Parramatta Park Precinct Masterplans
The project
Parramatta Park is one of Australia’s oldest and most well-loved regional parks. Precinct masterplans were developed to manage the heritage landscape and allow for increased use by a growing community.
The challenge
Saneia coordinated a team of ecologists, archaeologists and heritage specialists to prepare a masterplan for 4 precincts. The masterplans defined significant aspects of the park that must be protected as well as areas that could accommodate more intensive use. The team developed key design principles that considered archaeology, ecology and heritage, resulting in an achievable plan of action for new works. Saneia particularly enjoyed the challenge of distilling complex information into clear diagrams and text.
Responsibilities
Project management, Design, Community engagement.
This project was undertaken while Saneia was employed at the NSW Government Architect’s Office.
